How does an access control system work?
An access control system has five components: a control panel (the brain), readers at each door (card, fob, mobile, or biometric), credentials for each user, door hardware (electric strikes or mag locks), and management software. When a user presents their credential, the panel checks permissions and unlocks the door if authorized.
